In the Iranian Journal of Seed Science and Technology (IJSST) , submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review. In this method, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain concealed from each other, ensuring that manuscript evaluations are conducted objectively and solely based on scientific and content quality. This process enhances fairness, transparency, and scientific accuracy in peer review while preventing any non-scientific factors from influencing editorial decisions.

Manuscript Review and Acceptance Process

1. Manuscript Submission

• The corresponding author must first register and create a profile on the journal's website.

• The manuscript and all related files must be uploaded in compliance with the author guidelines.

• Upon submission, an email confirmation will be sent to the corresponding author.

2. Initial Manuscript Evaluation

• The manuscript is reviewed for compliance with the journal's policies and formatting standards.

• If any deficiencies are identified, the manuscript will be returned to the author once for revision and completion.

• Upon passing the initial screening, the manuscript is forwarded to the editorial board.

3. Editorial Board Assessment and Preliminary Decision

• The editorial board evaluates the manuscript, and based on their feedback, the editor-in-chief decides whether to reject or proceed with peer review.

• If approved, the manuscript is sent for specialized peer review.

4. Peer Review Process

• The manuscript is assigned to selected reviewers for evaluation under a double-blind peer review system.

• Reviewers provide feedback, which is then sent to the corresponding author via the journal’s website.

5. Manuscript Revision and Resubmission

• The corresponding author must implement the reviewers' recommendations and submit the revised version.

• Important: All revisions must be highlighted in distinct colors within the text.

• If additional clarification is required, the author must provide a separate file containing responses to reviewers' comments, ensuring that no names or affiliations are included.

6. Final Review

• The revised manuscript is assessed by a verification reviewer.

• If further revisions are necessary, multiple rounds of review may be required.

• Upon final approval, the manuscript is deemed accepted for publication.

7. Acceptance and Publication

• The corresponding author must pay the publication fee and upload the payment receipt via the journal's website.

• The acceptance letter is issued and sent to the author.

• The manuscript is added to the "Ready for Publication" list and assigned a DOI.

• The manuscript will be published in an upcoming issue of the journal.

• Initial manuscript evaluation: 2 weeks

• Peer review to final acceptance: Approximately 5 months

Key Considerations for Expedited Acceptance

✅ Before submission, carefully review the author's guidelines and ensure the manuscript complies with the journal’s standards.

✅ Use the approved fonts for all text, tables, and figures:

• Persian: B Zar, size 12

• English: Times New Roman, size 10

✅ Table and figure titles must be bilingual (Persian first, followed by English).

✅ Terminology within tables and figures should be bilingual (Persian terms followed by English equivalents).

✅ All numerical data in tables and figures must be in English.

✅ References must follow the APA 7th edition citation style.

✅ For Persian references, the article, journal, book, or thesis title must be translated into English and include [In Persian] at the end.

✅ All submission, review, and acceptance processes must be conducted exclusively through the journal's website. Submissions via email or other methods will not be considered.

✅ Manuscript status updates are communicated via email to the corresponding author. To avoid delays, regularly check journal emails and promptly respond to revision requests.

✅ If a manuscript remains in "Under Review" or "Sent to Reviewers" status for more than 30 days, the corresponding author may contact the journal with the manuscript ID for an update.
