Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the effect of camellia seed coating on germination characteristics under salinity stress conditions. The experiment was conducted as a factorial in a completely randomized design with three replications. Humic acid, polymer, micro elements, gibberellic acid, combination of humic acid with polymer, combination of humic acid and polymer and micro elements, combination of humic acid and polymer and Micro elements and gibberellic acid were used for coating. The stress levels were applied at four levels (0) control, 150, 180, 210 mM. The studied traits included seed germination percentage andseed rate , root and shoot length and dry weight of seedling. The results showed that the polymer coating, the combination of humic acid with polymer, gibberellic acid increased some of the different characteristics of germination in moderate and severe stress levels and were suitable for these stress levels. Polymer coating in salinity stress of 150 mM and 180mM increased seedling length (36.48%, 32.19%) and dry weight (80.95%, 75%) compared to control Also, the combination of polymer coating with humic acid increased seedling length (34.35%, 28.45%) and seedling dry weight (69.23%, 87.50%) and gibberellic acid coating at 210 mM salinity stress compared to the control. It caused a 17.84% increase in seedling length and a 60.62% increase in dry matter. In general, polymer coating and polymer combination with humic acid and gibberellic acid in salinity stress of 150, 180 and 210 mM increased seedling length and dry weight compared to the (0) control.
